The Xoran Sinus Mini-CAT scanner is the first of its kind in Southern Colorado and was   introduced to Colorado Springs by The William Storms Allergy Clinic in June 2007.

This is a CAT scanner which  scans only the sinuses.   It gives a lower radiation dose than the standard CAT scan machines at hospitals and radiology clinics.  The CAT scanner not only gives lower radiation dose but is more comfortable to the patients since they sit up in the machine rather than lying down.

By having the Sinus CAT scanner available in the doctor’s office it saves patients time and makes the diagnosis quicker so that patients can be treated for their sinus infections as soon as possible.

Sinus CT Scans are important for diagnosing sinusitis in people who have had recurrent sinus infections and they are important for differentiating allergic sinus symptoms from chronic sinus infections.
