William W.
Storms, M.D., is Clinical Professor at the University of
Colorado Health Sciences Center (Denver). He
practices clinical allergy and clinical research at the
William Storms Allergy Clinic in Colorado Springs,
Colorado. He received his undergraduate degree from
Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, and his
medical degree from the University of Wisconsin in
Madison. He completed his residency training in
Internal Medicine and was a Fellow in Allergy-Immunology
at the University of Wisconsin.
Dr.
Storms is the director of The Research Center at the
William Storms Allergy Clinic and as such is involved in
many investigational drug trials for new therapies in
asthma and allergic rhinitis.
He
is the former chairman of the Sports Medicine Committee of
the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. He
is a member of the Sports Medicine Committee of the United
States Olympic Committee (USOC), and also a member of the
Institutional Review Board (IRB) of the USOC. He is
past president of the Western Society of Allergy and
Immunology and the Colorado Allergy Society, and a former
member of the Board of Regents of the American College of
Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and the Board of the Joint
Council of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.
Dr.
Storms is a member of the National Asthma Education and
Prevention Program (NAEPP) Coordinating Committee of the
NIH/NHLBI, and is Co-Chair of the Subcommittee on
Professional and Public/Patient Education.
Dr.
Storms is an Associate Editor for Medicine and Science
in Sports and Exercise and is on the editorial board
of the Journal of Asthma and is a reviewer for the Journal
of Allergy and Clinical Immunology; Annals of
Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, Chest and ADIS
International. He has published over 40 articles
in peer-reviewed journals on asthma and allergy.
